How I Became Interested In British Shorthairs
Cynthia Gardner and I have been friends for over twenty
years, we first met when we went to ring craft classes in
Banbury with our first Golden Retrievers, and have stayed
friends ever since, we have been on holiday together, and
shared many happy and sad times, with rarely a cross word
between us.
Cynthia used to breed Goldens but in 1997 she purchased
her first British Shorthaired kitten and from then on she
has concentrated on breeding and showing British
Shorthaired cats.

Over the years I have visited Cynthia when she has had
litters and always said I would have one of her cats one
day. We have always had moggies over the years since we
moved from up North but with all our dogs we didn’t see
how we could own and breed pedigree kittens.
Last year in March 2004 I visited Cynthia again to see her
litter and fell in love with them and this time I couldn’t
resist, although I was not really organised to add any
more animals to our ever growing number. In the past when
I have had kittens we have always had two together so they
had someone to play with, we arranged to have two from
this litter and in June 2004 our first two British
Shorthaired kittens came to stay, Dusty (Nortonwood
Moondust) a blue colour point and Misty (Nortonwood
Highland Mist) a Lilac self.
Watch this space for news of our journey into the world of
Cats.

place long enough to take her photo.

Meet Luis, he is going to come and
live with us in February 2006, he is a cream self and his
breeder Karen is going to show him in kitten classes
before he comes to join our clan. This photo shows him to
be a little darker than he actually is.
We also welcome Merlin (Dragoneyes
Skysocorer)
